RockSolid includes over 100 reports that provide valuable information in the areas of performance, security, availability, recoverability, change history and SLA management. RockSolid reports can be run interactively or scheduled and delivered by email. This allows reports to be accessed by both users and non-users of RockSolid within your organization.

Performance Report Samples

Daily Performance Report

The Daily Performance Report gives a performance summary of an entire day for a particular Instance of SQL Server. It can either be viewed ad-hoc to review performance on a specific day, or schedule to be sent on a reoccurring basis at the end of each day.

Key information in this report includes:

  • A plot of Read I/O for the instance compared with day, week and monthly averages for this instance.
  • A plot of Write I/O for the instance compared with day, week and monthly averages for this instance.
  • A plot of CPU Time for the instance compared with day, week and monthly averages for this instance.
  • A pie graph show % of I/O Utilization by Database.
  • A pie graph show % of I/O Utilization by Login.
  • A pie graph show % of I/O Utilization by Application.
  • A pie graph show % of I/O Utilization by Hours Type (business, non- business, backup, maintenance etc).
  • A list of the highest impacting queries by I/O by Hours Type.

CPU Utilization & Pressure

The CPU Utilization & Pressure report provides a plot of both the Utilization of the CPU from the Operating System, and an internal measure of CPU Pressure from SQL Server. The internal measure of CPU Pressure is useful for determining if lack of CPU resource is impacting the overall performance of the SQL Server Instance.

Key information in this report includes:

  • Plot of % Processor Time from the Operating System.
  • Plot of aggregated CPU Wait Time calculated from SQL Server Wait Stats data.

Instance Blocking History

The Instance Blocking History report shows aggregate of queries that are causing the most blocking in a particular Instance or Database. This information is useful for identifying problem queries and resolving blocking issues through query optimization.

Key information in this report includes:

  • The aggregated top 20 queries causing blocking (queries are parsed to remove runtime parameters).
  • The total number of process that were blocked by this query.
  • The total amount of time processes were blocked by this query.

Security Report Samples

SQL Login History

The login history report shows the history of SQL Server logins, aggregated per hour. This report shows each login, the number of logins per hour and the total amount of resources consumed by that login for the associated sessions.

Key information in this report includes:

  • The total number of logins for the specified hour by a particular network login
  • The total amount of CPU time consumed by each login during the hour.
  • The total amount Read I/O consumed by each login during the hour.
  • The total amount Write I/O consumed by each login during the hour.

Last Login Date

The Last Login Date report shows the last date a SQL Server login connected to the Instance. This is useful for improving security by allowing old, unused logins to be removed from SQL Server.

Key information in this report includes:

  • All logins with access to SQL Server.
  • The date the login last connect to the SQL Server Instance.
  • The number of days since the last login.

Recoverability Report Samples

Full Backup History

The Last Login Date report shows the last date a SQL Server login connected to the Instance. This is useful for improving security by allowing old, unused logins to be removed from SQL Server.

Key information in this report includes:

  • An indicator of if the database has been backed up or not.
  • The date of the last full backup for each database.
  • The size in MB of the last full database backup.
  • The duration in minutes of the last full dataabse backup.
  • An indicator showing if the database has not been backed up previously.

Availability Report Samples

Instance Availability History

This report shows the availability history for each instance within a site, for a specified time range. Down time is calculated as a percentage of the entire period.

Key information in this report includes:

  • For each instance, the uptime precentage by date.
  • For each instance, the total uptime percentage for the specified period.
